Last few weeks been traveling across the Midwest giving lectures being honored, in the evening if there’s not scheduled event just go wherever have a beer and chicken Cesar salad at some local place. Strike up conversations and soon learn absolutely everyone is suffering from a serious chronic illness or their best friend, or their daughter, or their mother/father and no one will guide them to their closest academic health center to get them the right treatment. I give them my contact info and this has become a new unpaid job. I do it to help, but it’s occurred to me that this shouldn’t be so random there’s a better way. The academic health centers need to be more accessible
