At the 2026 NIH Research Festival, Lasker Clinical Research Scholar Dr. Stephanie Chung shared how her research explores the genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that increase the risk of pediatric obesity and T2D. Her lab also looks at why metformin, a common treatment for T2D, successfully lowers blood sugar in adults but is not as effective in children.
